The Washington State Recycling Association has been on the cutting edge of recycling issues since 1976. WSRA has some of the most advanced and recognized recycling professionals, leaders, innovators, problem-solvers, educators, policy makers and visionaries, representing both the public and private sector. Our members come from all sectors of the recycling industry — collection, processing, manufacturing, consulting, government, and nonprofit. Conference Committee

This group plans and executes a financially successful Annual Conference focused on developing educational content and sessions, planning facility tours and networking activities.

Education & Networking Committee

This committee plans the in-person and virtual education and networking opportunities throughout the year hosted by WSRA. This committee also creates programs that educate, inform, and stimulate membership professional development – making WSRA the primary learning and knowledge source for recycling professionals in Washington!

Equity Committee

WSRA’s Equity committee works in partnership with members, volunteers, and the board to critically examine all aspects of WSRA’s programs through an equity lens. Some examples of committee work include coordinating an annual DEI training for board members, hosting equity-focused educational webinars and events, improving access and inclusion a the annual conference, and building relationships with tribes and other BIPOC-led community groups.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee focuses on the recruitment, retention, and recognition of its members. It oversees the financial health of the organization while striving to provide a vibrant, inclusive, and engaged member base representing all areas of the recycling industry.

Policy Committee

The WSRA Policy Forum is an annual event hosted by the WSRA Policy Committee that offers a glimpse into what recycling and reuse related bills will be topics of discussion for the upcoming legislative session. The WSRA Policy Forum offers a forum annually for WSRA members to hear directly from state legislators, Washington Department of Ecology, and others about their recycling and reuse priorities as well as an opportunity to hear from membership on the potential impacts to their business or organization. The Policy Forum is in addition to meetings during legislative session to keep up-to-date on current bills.

The WSRA Policy Forum encourages WSRA members to have candid dialogue with one another about upcoming policy priorities and current policy implementation impacts to their business or organization. All WSRA members are invited to attend the Policy Forum to receive unique insights into the upcoming legislative session as a benefit of being a WSRA member!
