TROLLS: A Field Study

Fee: Free

Join WSRA for a field trip that’s a little different from your typical recycling tour!

We’ll visit TROLLS: A Field Study, the traveling exhibit featuring giant sculptures made from reclaimed materials, and explore how the exhibit’s themes of reuse, materials and sustainability connect to our work.

Then we’ll take a closer look at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium as a “small city” with its own unique waste streams, visitors, food service, operations, and sustainability challenges. Through a guided field study and interactive activities, we’ll explore what the zoo is doing, what we can learn from it, and what ideas we might take back to our own communities.

As part of the experience, attendees will have an opportunity to share their expertise and ideas with the zoo team as they work through some of their real world recycling and waste reduction challenges. In return, you’ll gain new ideas, perspectives, and connections you can take back to your own community. There’s no cost to attend because WSRA attendees are helping Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium think through these challenges.

Come for the trolls. Stay for the recycling, ideas, and networking!

Space will be limited, so sign up early for this unique WSRA experience.
